We use soy wax and eco wicks, both of which are environmentally friendly. More information about our wax and wicks is available on our product information page. We have zero to minimal plastic usage; in the product as well as the process. Our delivery orders mostly consist of cardboard boxes and newspaper, however, the packaging company uses bubble wrap for safety of the container during transportation.
Whenever you light the candles, please be sure to trim the wick by ¼ inch for better burning. We trim the wick and send it, but after that, the wick should be trimmed as and when required. Most candles do not get fully consumed, but that does not mean it is faulty. The first time you light the candle, you should let it pool completely (i.e., let it burn from end to end) to avoid tunnelling. After the first time, it is okay to light it for any amount of time (we recommend maximum 4 hours) you require. Soy wax has a memory, and if you only burn a little bit and turn it off before it burns end to end, it will always burn the same amount.
Please feel free to contact us if you face any issue regarding the candle or its burning :)
When only a little wax is remaining in the container, you should not burn it. Further, you can put it in a bowl or pot of hot water so that the wax melts a little from the bottom. After this, the wax should be pulled out easily. You can then wash the container with regular dishwashing soap and warm water. A video explanation of this is available on our instagram page - @guruomcandles
Wet spots occur when wax pulls away from the container edge. The science is relatively simple: wax expands when it heats up and contracts as it cools. Candle making involves melting wax into a liquid (expansion) then pouring it into a container where it cools down (contraction). The most dramatic volume change happens right after pouring the candle. Candles usually go through “micro” temperature changes throughout their life, causing the wet spots. Wet spots may occur at any time, from making of the candle, to transportation, due to the temperature difference inside the container and of the environment. So, if you have wet spots on your candle, this does not in any way mean that the product is faulty and does not signify that your product is damaged. It will burn perfectly fine and the quality will not be affected.
At Guru Om Candles, our commitment to sustainability and homemade craftsmanship means that each of our candles is individually hand-poured and unique. Because we use natural and environmentally conscious ingredients, slight variations in color, texture, and finish may occur from one batch to another. These differences are a testament to the hand-crafted nature of our products and do not affect the quality or performance of the candle. Our goal is to provide you with a beautifully unique and eco-friendly product every time you purchase from us. Further, even our candle containers are man-made, not machine made, which is why differences can sometimes occur even in the containers. We guarantee that the product quality does not change just because your candle looks a little different from a previous time :)
Curing time refers to the period after the candles are poured, during which the wax and fragrance fully bond and stabilize. This process is crucial because it ensures that the candle will burn evenly and release its intended scent at optimal strength. This allows the handmade craftsmanship and sustainable ingredients to reach their full potential, ensuring each candle radiates the love and warmth with which it was created. Proper curing can also extend the overall lifespan of your candle, making your Guru Om Candles experience even more delightful and sustainable!
